To all my people…. Red, Yellow, Black, White and Brown.
I’m sure we’ve all had struggles. Acts of discrimination by the dominant society. I’m probably guessing that somewhere in our lives we’ve wondered why it seems there is two types of people. This mentality of oppression and colonization is no longer a “WHITE MANS” mentality. Its a mentality and way of life that has infected all people. No matter if your mexican, white, black, central or south american, jewish, persian, native, asian, middle eastern, there are those within our own that are caught up in this way of life. A way of destruction that doesn’t care for the empowerment of our cultural and spiritual roots but demands our labor and sweat with no benefits. This country was founded upon lies and thievery in the name of “God”… Celebrations are being waged in the honor of the native peoples struggle and holocaust. Why have we not seen the true history of this country. With the new era of tribal success in the gaming enterprise and empowerment, why then can’t it be our time. Why have we not told our own story. Why do you think famous writer/director Scorcese is such an amazing film maker? Because he writes stories and directs movies that he is connected with culturally. We need no invitation, we need no handouts because our way and our spirit will take its rightful position as the creators chosen people. What better nation to take the lead and guide those who will understand. We are no better than anyone for we all are human beings. You bleed the same color as me. We cry the same make up of molecules. We come from a creation in the image of “Atius Tirawa” (Creator God)Whether your Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, Indigenous, New age or just make up shit on your own, learn… Learn to listen to the wind, to the earth, to the mountains, to the great waters, the heavens, night, sun, moon, animals and people. People who have that light and that energy know that it is undenyable. If were gonna make a change in this world we gotta try to come together. Sacrificing egos and non-sence. For my own people! Why do we hold eachother down? Why do we get envious and jealous when another native is doing well or making it? Why can’t we come together and support the efforts of those who are stepping out and making change in their enviroment? Why do we have to war with ourselves. Why are we still waring with alcohol. Who in your family or your camp is making that change. The first will be last and the last will be first. I’ve had people try and hold me down. I’ve had people down my name. I’ve been betrayed. I’ve been alone along time. Long enough to know that my answers and blessing come just as they are and no one can stop the efforts that I do because they are guided by a journey already written by the CREATOR.
As long as we walk the journey that the Creator has laid before us then we’ll be “Turahe”, we’ll be good. As long as you opperate in your gift then nothing can come in between you and your destiny. Only you, can hold you back. So tell you, that you can make it. There are alot of people out there who are seeking, seeking what is right in front of them. Its there and it will be there as long as your heart has the slightest bit of flicker. I had a dream and then I had another dream and in these dreams I was told that I will dream. We all dream. Are we understanding these dreams. Are we going there. Can you go there. Those who hold the powers of darkness can go there. Thats why there in power in this country and thats why they’ve always been in power. They understand spiritual energy and power. Thats the root of colonization and oppression. Its to completely take you from your comfort and normalcy of spirituality and culture and make you forget. Forget so much that you don’t even relate anymore. Forget so much that you don’t even except it. Forget so much that you reject it. Forget so much that you can’t even connect anymore. These people who are in power and understand the laws of the spiritual, they know. They’ve always known.
When you twist and rewrite what was already good, it becomes bad but decieving enough to look like truth. Why do you think that these people of power stole our songs, our medicine bundles, our sacred objects? When they couldn’t extract the spirit or energy from these objects, they then made efforts to try to extract it from our sacred places and sites such as islands, hills, glades, deserts and mountains. Why do you think they put a multi-million dollar telescope on top of Mnt. Graham with the intent to try and find heaven and other lifeforms in hope to save them in the name of Jesus!? hmmm? These things being speerheaded by the vatican amongst the chiricahua apache from theh San Carlos Apache Reservation. There trying to extract the spiritual energy from these sacred places. Which means we have to go to these places in a good, humble and respectful way and connect. Not just by yourself but with the community. I hope that people, Native or not will find the formula that has been formed in these times. You see, since we’re in different times these days, things have shifted. Like the seasons have shifted, the formula has shifted slightly. Effort with a sincere heart will bring you what it is your looking for. When you recognize this spiritual connection it is inevitable that we’ll recognize eachother. I hope to see you soon on this journey, if not we’ll meet up in the hvlwe “heavens” :)…
The times now to embrace the opportunity that has been placed upon us. Just like the south, central american, mexican people, chicano/a people whom have identified with there indigenous roots. They are learning and they are embracing. They are making the effort. We are all related. When we come together, we will know. We will know spiritual power. Some people say “We are gonna take this country back and over throw the government!”but I say “We’ll take our spirits back that had been taken from us long ago by this government and give it back to the people, to the youth, to the elders. When we do this we will take back the land one beat, one song, one movement, one voice and one nation at a time.” We will bring peace to hurting hearts of teen suicide on reservations.We will encourage our people to come together to fight for our lands, sacred homes and water, together. To many times we see films about the struggle and pain. We need solution. Each person has a way to solution and that is found within our own efforts. The Creator honors efforts. Effort made doing something different, will take you on a new journey that will open up doors never imagined. People in europe, poland, russia and other places are feeling the spiritual movement of the Native Ways. It is good. It is what it shall be and what its always been. Our young adults are getting there education. Lets heal our hearts together. We wonder why we hurt so much, its probably because we hurt so much… Don’t tear down your own people. Build them up and feel what it feels like to help. There was a warrior long ago who told his best friend like brother that he had to go off alone and was going to do a great deed. He told his best friend like brother “If I don’t come back, you tell the camp of my great deed”. His best friend like brother told him “If you are going to do a great deed, I will go with you, I WILL DIE WITH YOU. You are my brother, I am with you…” They went and made the simplest effort for there people so that those back home would be ok. We can be that for our generation now and for the next one.
If you read this long blog of mine, then thanks yo. I don’t write these things down hardly ever but thought I would since theres so much emphasis on change, solution and peace. This is what is in my heart. I speak it in hiphop and speak from the spirit so when I do this you feel what it is that the spirit intends. There are many who speak from that spirit and you feel it. I’ve felt it many times speaking to many elders and young people. With writing it, I guess you could say its good cause some people need to read it to remind themselves or realize themselves. These are my thoughts and my words but now these are yours also. You use these words here or wherever you find them for your own personal journey. Your personal thoughts they may have been provoked and triggered by this blog.If so, that is Turahe!! This is a gift just as I’ve recieved many. Alot of folks will say “oh I came up with that, I came up with this phrase or that saying!” but actually it was a gift from the Creator for all to use but brought forth to a mind of one for many.
I mean for real yo, I remember in 3rd grade there was a science fair and being that I was always late for homework or projects I threw together a little invention. The night before I took apart my remote control car and took the engine out, taped a battery to it and got a little wooden stick and cut out a little fan out of cardboard and made a little handheld fan. The first handheld fan. I called it “The Fan-tom”. I got third place in the science fair but since I was a little indian boy and was into spiritual things and signs I looked at it as “Dang, I’m in third grade and I got third place!!”
Thats a good sign!! LOL!! well now you see those fans at stores and amusement parks. Well yo, I made that little fan-tom in 3rd grade back in 1985… Now thats gangsta. I should’ve trademarked it huh!! haha. Anyhow these words are for everyone, not just me. As natives we give gifts of spiritual words and them others like to give advise and oppinions. Look at all the dope quotes and sayings by our ancestors, they were like the first spoken word artists. These are my thoughts so don’t get it twisted that what I say is right for you. This is what is right for me and “It feels so good…” For my family, warriors, comadres, warrior women, elders, youth, animals, trees, earth, water, lightning bugs, junebugs, bees, dragonflies and so on!! lol… Peace ya’ll and take this myspace as a tool to reach all people
